Boys and Girls Home and Family Services, Inc.

Learning to Make Positive Choices
Children and adolescents whose behavior and/or degree of emotional trauma require a structured, yet nurturing program can be placed in residential treatment programs. Youth live in a unit setting with a group of peers with the average length of stay between 6 and 9 months. Staff work with youth to reinforce positive behavior and assist them in eliminating negative, self-destructive behaviors.

This type of placement comes after the client has not been successful in adjusting behavior as part of participation in less restrictive treatment programs.  It provides the opportunity for the youth to take responsibility for their actions and develop more appropriate ways of dealing with their emotions.

Boys and Girls Home provides several residential programs specializing in assisting individuals with anger management, family issues, attachment issues, social skills, crisis stabilization and academic achievement.  The ultimate goal is to provide a smooth transition to a stabilized home environment.
