An Educational Setting Where All Students Can Succeed
The education program at Boys and Girls Home and Family Services is based on the belief that any student can be successful if the environment and instruction are conducive to providing opportunities for achievement. A high percentage of students who receive instruction at Boys and Girls Home are those who have struggled within. At Boys and Girls Home and Family Services, Inc. we individualize each child's educational program resulting in higher achievement by the student.
All youth in residential treatment programs continue their education at Boys and Girls Home and Family Services, Inc. In addition, the agency operates interim education programs in conjunction with several school districts in Iowa and Nebraska.
Interim Education Program - The Interim Education Program is a state-approved program designed to accommodate children with learning difficulties as well as students struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Students served are from local school districts and need a more intensive education setting, but are still able to live at home with their families.
Faculty consists of an education director with 30 plus years of experience and state licensed educators in partnership trained counselors who use a variety of intake assessments to develop an education program specific to each child's needs and abilities.
